Manuscript submission

Please send us the following documents: 1. The manuscript should be submitted as a camera-ready pdf file to contact@lincom.eu. If LINCOM creates the layout, please also send us a Word file (*.docx). 2. An abstract (max. 200 words). 3. Authors should give their names in the form and order in which they wish them to appear on the cover of the book. 4. An explanation of whether and how you used AI tools in the manuscript preparation. 5. A short text about your professional background and previous publications. 6. Images, graphics and maps, including complete source information.

Stylesheet

1. The proposed size of the pages for submission is DIN A4 or 17x24 cm. 2. The minimum number of pages is 60 pp. 3. Margins (DIN A4): top (incl. header), bottom: 2.5 cm, right, left: 2.5cm 4. Pagination: a. Even page numbers should be on the left side and odd page numbers on the right side. Please place headers accordingly. b. Or if no header is used, all page numbers can be in the center of the bottom. 5. The cover pages are produced by LINCOM. 6. The text should be written in Times Roman 12 (Times New Roman or a similar font), the space between the lines should be 1.2 = 14.4pt. In case you have different fonts, please ask. 7. Footnotes may be on the same page. In this case the footnotes are separated from the text by a line. Footnotes should be numbered consecutively. The text in the footnotes should be written in Times Roman 11 or 12 (10 is too small!). 8. The text should be written with left and right alignment. 9. Photographs, graphics, diagrams, maps should be submitted camera-ready. The copyright should be made clear. It should be sent as jpeg or tiff files. 10. Bibliographical references should be given in alphabetical order. Entries should conform to the conventions of the respective discipline or the conventions as used in Language. All entries should be indented from the second line on. 11. Interlinear transcriptions: a. Examples with morpheme-by-morpheme glosses should be set according to international standards. b. Translation either follows directly below the citation and the interlinear transcription if the example does not exceed one line. If the example is longer, the translation follows under the whole citation with a space of one line. The translation should be in single quotation marks. c. Special characters should be from the IPA. In cases where another transcription has become the convention this should be used consistently throughout the whole text. d. International conventions should be observed concerning morphemic, phonetic, phonological or morphophonological units and sequences.

Notes on our book series

Languages of the World/Materials (LW/M) A forum for short descriptive grammars. Studies on all languages and dialects are welcome. Special focus is laid on 'endangered' languages and languages where survey is urgently needed. Each issue contains a chapter on Phonology, Morphology, Syntax and a sample text with interlinear translation. In addition to the grammar series Languages of the World/Materials (LW/M), there are the dictionary series (LW/D) and the text-collection series (LW/T). Preferred Languages of publication: English, French, Spanish. Languages of the World /Text Collections (LW/T) Text collections on languages where survey is urgently needed All texts should be grammatically analysed, preceeded by an introductory chapter summarizing the main typological features of the language. Languages of the World/Dictionaries (LW/D) Collection of dictionaries of lesser used languages LINCOM Coursebooks in Linguistics All issues of the LINCOM Coursebooks in Linguistics series should consist of 16-20 units (ca. 160-200pp.), all clearly presented, with examples and exercises. Each issue should support the curriculum, featuring either traditional topics or new approaches to linguistic disciplines, taught at academic courses of an undergraduate or an advanced level. LINCOM Language Coursebooks All issues of the LINCOM Language Coursebooks series should be designed for university students taking the language as a minor or subsidiary subject, or in preparation for research. It can be completed in a year by a student giving a third of his or her time to the language. No previous experience of formal language learning is presupposed, and the course can be followed with or without a teacher. All chapters should be clearly presented, with examples and exercises, and should be written by authors who have long teaching experience in the respective language.
